About Me D.J.Randall a.k.a DJ Tubs
HI !!! - Thanks for visiting my site.
I am from Cape Town, South Africa, was born and raised in a little town called Ocean View, a few kilometers short of Cape Point, (most southerly PEAK of Africa). I am currently living in a very quiet little place called Zeekoevlei, its situated in the southern suburbs of Cape town, and is on the outer borders of Grassy Park.
I was influenced by music at a very young age, thanks to a musical family and aunts and uncles who know how to party hard *lol*.
At the tender age of 14 years old I started getting into the DJ scene.
Started out with the most basic Tools, two Cassette Decks, no mixer, and an old HI -FI amplifier (hehehe)
Thanks to the school I attended (Ocean View High) who allowed us to do our thing at school functions, which gave us the opportunity to clean up our act and get 'more professional' in what we were doing.
The main influences in my DJ life were a few local DJ's and Clubs,
The number one idol in the early days was DJ Superfly, he played at THE NEW YORKER, or better known as the N.Y. He was definitely the Leader and trend setter as far as Creative bits and pieces were concerned.
But the main people who nurtured me into what I am today, are DJ Fast Eddie and DJ Carlo.
Acted as roadie for them for a few years, then went off and did my own thing.
Fast Eddie is the resident DJ at the very well known Club Vibe , in Cape Town.
I have been a DJ for about 14 years now - but never professional,
it has been my life long ambition to "Remix" and cut up a few of my own ideas for others to enjoy.
With the Help of a very good friend and I.T. consultant, Otis J. Gore (http://www.odysseygraphics.co.za), I managed to make my dream a reality.
Otis managed to master the software needed for the type of programing we use and passed some of his knowledge over to me (not all of it though :).
He has produced a string of HITS himself and some of them are available in The Music section of this site.
So take a look at some of the tracks myself and my brother (assistant producer) have managed to push out.
